In its midst lives an international ecumenical Christian community, founded and supported by European Christians and churches. Its members are living, working and learning in solidarity with Jews, Arabs and others living in the country.

HR OFFICER

(Nes Ammim, Israel)

Purpose of the position

Our volunteers can come from all over the world. As HR Officer, and member of the Operational Management Team, you are responsible for the well-being of the volunteers. Recruitment, on-boarding, arranging visas, this it is all part of your job. Furthermore, you are responsible for the execution and development of HR policies related to recruitment and contracting. You also make sure that training and development opportunities are available.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Administering and handling of the volunteer visas;
  • Monitoring the well-being of the volunteers and offering advice where needed;
  • Creating and preserving the organizational culture and work climate in which the volunteers and employees have the right motivation, involvement and commitment to serve the mission and vision of Nes Ammim;
  • Organizing and conducting intakes, monthly reviews and exit interviews with volunteers;
  • Creating monthly work schedules;
  • Identifying new opportunities and creative ways to attract more volunteers;
  • Recruiting, selecting and contracting new volunteers in close cooperation with the Nes Ammim organizations in Germany, the Netherlands and international partners;
  • Providing volunteers with information about policies, jobs, and working conditions;
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships within the community to meet community needs and to ensure that services are delivered in a proper way.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree, for example in human resources;
  • Multi-year experience working with a team, preferably with working knowledge of team dynamics and HR topics;
  • Experience working with young adults is preferred;
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and written; excellent command of the English language;
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, creative, cooperative and accurate;
  • A people person, with intercultural sensitivity, able to motivate others;
  • Full support of the mission, vision and Christian core values of Nes Ammim;
  • Willingness to live in a small village community for a period of at least two years.
