Adalah - The Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel invites candidates to apply for the position of Fundraising Coordinator. Adalah ("Justice" in Arabic) is an independent human rights organization and legal center. Established in November 1996, it strives to achieve equal individual and collective rights for the Palestinian Arab minority in Israel and works to protect and defend Palestinians living under Occupation from gross human rights violations.

Strengthening Adalah’s fundraising: Adalah wishes to strengthen its fundraising efforts in order ensure the development of its resources and to sustain its activities in the future. For that purpose, it wishes to recruit a part-time or full-time fundraising coordinator whose tasks will be to assist the International Advocacy Director and other staff in developing fundraising strategies for Adalah, and implementing fundraising activities with donors.

You will:

  • Assist in designing strategies of fundraising and researching new avenues of funding;
  • Conduct fundraising activities in relation to donor agencies, family foundations, and individual donors (project and core funding; short- and long-term funding) including drafting relevant funding applications and reports, and attending donor meetings;
  • Ensure timely reporting, conveying of information about changes in activities, visibility of donors, etc., in close cooperation with project staff;
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring and evaluation of projects.

You have:

  • A masters’ degree (MA) in law, development, communication, business or the like; Experience in fundraising, preferably in an NGO, university, or with a donor agency;
  • Knowledge of and preferably a contact network within the donor community of foundations, human rights, Israel/OPT, in the US and Europe, and beyond;
  • Excellent, native-level spoken and written English. Fluency in Arabic or Hebrew or both languages would also be a strong advantage;
  • Training and experience in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) processes;
  • Excellent ability to think creatively and strategically about fundraising in a challenging and competitive environment;
  • Availability to travel;
  • A commitment to Adalah's goals and mandate.

Terms and Conditions:

Work: Full-time or part-time (80% of a job). Salary: To be determined based on Adalah’s salary scale and relevant experience. Start date: July 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter. Other: Must have a permit to work in Israel.
